Cornerstone’s Mission – What we will do.
Cornerstone’s personalization of the Great Commission.
We will:
Love people of all ages to salvation in Jesus Christ.
This involves building relationships with people, showing Christian concern for
them, and sharing our lives with them. We will love people enough to speak the
truth and explain to them the great news of Jesus’ desire to rescue them and draw
them into His family. We will help people cross over into an eternal relationship
with Jesus and be spiritually born as Jesus takes up residence inside of them.
Mend the broken to wholeness in Jesus Christ.
This involves helping people be set free from the emotional, physical, social and
spiritual bondages that are holding them back. We minister to the whole person
and help them become healthy, productive, victorious and joyous in their
relationship with Jesus.
Build the disciples to maturity in Jesus Christ.
We intentionally invest in people so that they continue to grow to be like Jesus in
their beliefs and behaviors. This involves helping people get connected to a
disciple-maker – a person who shepherds and mentors the person in spiritual
growth. The Word, worship, fellowship and service are crucial components of
fostering this spiritual growth.
Send the leaders to grow and multiply the Church of Jesus Christ.
Some people are called and gifted to be leaders. We will recognize and develop
these people. We will then help them be deployed in leading new ministries in our
church, in new churches nearby and all around the world.
Cornerstone’s Values – What makes us unique.
1. We value intentionally connecting with people where we live, work, and play and
extending God’s grace and truth so that people are loved to salvation in Jesus
Christ.
2. We value the word of God and strive to help each person understand and obey
it.
3. We value prayer as our first work and the key to effective life and ministry.
4. We value diversity and multi-ethnicity in the Church as many different people
live out Christian unity and follow the same Lord Jesus Christ.
5. We value ministry to the whole person and helping them in body, soul and spirit.
6. We value God’s gifting, empowering and calling of men and women into both
fulltime and volunteer ministry.
7. We value discovering the spiritual gifts that God has given us and using them
individually and corporately.
8. We value intentionally building believers to full Christ-likeness.
9. We value the balance of grace and truth. Therefore, we are neither legalistic nor
permissive.
10. We value children and youth and their full participation in the church of today.
11. We value planting new churches to reach the un-churched here and through
our worldwide missionary ministry.
12. We value the dedication of our resources to God and we strive to wisely use
them to spread his message and fame.
