Thank you for prayerfully considering financially investing in this important ministry of expanding the
College of Prayer in the Congos!

Here are some considerations :

1. We are ministering at the invitation of the president of each national church.

2. We are working beside the missionaries to assist them in achieving their strategic plan for each country.

3. We are investing three to four trips to each strategic city. We will provide all the money to run the colleges for those
years, after which they are self governing and self supporting. A short term investment produces a long term spiritual
return.

4. We are investing in developing leaders, we do not have any expenses for buildings and lands.

5. We provide scholarships for travel and lodging of the Congolese pastors.

6. We provide materials and booklets.

7. We charge the attendees a nominal fee so that they are developing the discipline of contributing to the ongoing
expense of the college of prayer once they are self directed. (A cheer erupted last July when we told them the book,
“Everything By Prayer” by Fred Hartley, was being sold to them for $1.  It obviously cost us much more than that just
in shipping costs.)

8. The costs per Congolese pastor are only $20 when all the cost is spead over 1,500 pastors. That makes this a
very efficient investment in future leaders.

I wish you could experience with me what God is doing in the College of Prayer in Congo. Imagine being
surrounded by 100 Congolese pastors as they sing at the top of their lungs worshipping God. Imagine
watching men shedding tears of joy and hugging each other as God has just broken down the walls of
unforgiveness and competition.  Imagine being surrounded by pastors begging you to come back soon and
bring more materials, teaching and more books.

The Vision of the College of Prayer is to mentor leaders to reach a lost world through a revived church. The
Lord Jesus Christ is using the College of Prayer to do that around the world and particularly in the Republic
of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Last February, I, and Pastor Carl Schmidt, led modules of the College of Prayer in Pointe Noire and
Brazzaville in the Republic of Congo and Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. God moved in mighty
ways as people invited Jesus Christ to rule in their lives. Marriages were restored as we led people to
develop the habit of praying as husbands and wives. Vision for ministry was restored as pastors saw God
touching people and healing hearts and bodies.
Three Campuses of College of Prayer ministering in Congo!
The picture to the left is of the Servant Leadership Team that
was created in Kinshasa. These men were thrilled with what
God did during the first module. They openly admitted that
they were not very excited at first about being required by
their president to attend. However, after seeing that God
was bringing revival they assured me that next time they
would invite others and we would have 1,000 pastors in
attendance. At the end of the module I treated the leaders to
a meal at an upscale restaurant. It was not much by
American standards but it was an impossible luxury at their
usual standard of living. It was a privilege to use some of
your donations to treat these valuable servants of God and
let them know that they are appreciated.

Unfortunately the Congolese culture doesn’t foster a sense of partnership and equality in marriages. In
module two of the College of Prayer we teach ministry couples how to pray as husbands and wives, how to
have marriages that reflect
God’s plan, how to counteract the lies of the enemy that hinder marital oneness, how to bless your spouse,
and the power of couples agreeing in prayer.
This young pastor couple was really blessed as they
applied the teaching and engaged in agreement
prayer and blessing prayer. Their little toddler son
watched in amazement as they confessed their sins
to each other, cried together, hugged and even
washed each other’s feet!  Another couple admitted
that they lived a pretense of a marriage and hadn’t
even touched each other for 20 years. But that day
God broke through the barriers and they were
holding hands in prayer and washing each others
feet as a sign of serving and blessing each other.
The future of the church is being strengthened!
Future Opportunities

We have been invited to return to all three cities. The tentative date for the return trip is July 25th - August
8th of 2008. We expect 200-300 people in both Pointe Noire and Brazzaville. The television coverage of
last year’s module is spreading the word. In Kinshasa we expect 1,000 pastors. We are also praying about
an evangelistic crusade in the soccer stadium. The potential is GREAT!

Would you join in making this possible? Your prayers and financial support are crucial. The estimated cost
for hosting all three modules, with 1,500 pastors, is around $30,000.  This includes getting the team to
Congo, getting the Congolese pastors to the meeting site, and providing them with food, lodging and
materials.  This small per pastor investment will reap long term benefits as they are revived to lead their
churches to reach a lost world.

Thank you for partnering with me and the Congolese pastors!  Your prayers and financial gifts are greatly
appreciated and are bearing fruit in Africa!
